Akhlas Uddin

Born in 1974, self-taught documentary photographer Md. Akhlas Uddin starts his career as a photographer since in 1995. He completed many different photographic course/workshop from SPS/PATHSHALA and BRAC University, including the Telling the Story International Photojournalism Workshop by OUC-PATHSHALA 2013 in Dhaka, Workshop On Caring Men- "Masculinities, Care work and Art" 2014 and the Photography Course On SRHR 2017 from James P Grant School of Public Health/Brac University.

In addition, Akhlas Uddin is the member of Sylhet Photographic Society (SPS) still now since 1995, as well as the former organizing secretary and vice president of SPS, and contributor in Getty Images.



Md. Akhlas Uddin has been received about 150 photographic awards form national and international as well as clubs photo competition, which include FIAP, PSA, UPI, TSC, BPS, BSPA & SPS Gold Medals/Trophy. Among of those awards, he has been rewarded the Artist FIAP "AFIAP" distinction from The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) in 2010 and EFIAP Distinction (Excellence FIAP) in 2013.

In addition to some remarkable awards, they include Prince Naris Award in Thailand 2015, FCCT/OnAsia Photojournalism Award in Thailand, Days Japan Photojournalism Award in Japan, Xposure Photography Festival Award 2016 in Sharjah, Asahi Shimbun Award in Japan, Tourism in the World in Sanmarino, Trierenberg Super Circuit in Austria, and Celebrating Life Awards in Bangladesh and many more countries.

Further more, Akhlas Uddin was also nominated for the Prix Picket Award in 2013 in UK, the Performance and Documentary Award in Humanity Photo Awards 2017 (HPA) China, and recipient Merit Medal in HIPA 7th season in Dubai.



Akhlas Uddin's works have been published in some national and international newspapers and magazines, such as Positive Light Bangladesh Book, the La Figaro Magazine in France, DailyMail.Com, Aday in the World Photo book and many competition photo book/catalog.



Akhlas Uddin has more than one group exhibition in Sylhet and Dhaka Bangladesh and many photos/portfolio exhibited different countries of the world.
